Allied Health, Nursing, & Midwifery
The intent of the Allied Health, Nursing, & Midwifery Division is to recognise early-career researchers from these professions who are affiliated in a full-time or part-time capacity with an organisation at the Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct (RHIP).
Who should apply?
If you meet one of the “early career” criterion below, and are affiliated with an RHIP organisation you are eligible to submit an abstract:
- Individuals who meet the NHMRC definition of an early-career researcher (for example, are within five years of their PhD or Masters award date, excluding career disruptions).
- Individuals who are enrolled in a higher degree e.g., Masters, PhD (including a clinical Master degree).
- Individuals who are not enrolled or have not completed a higher degree (Masters, PhD) but are the principal investigator of an ethically approved research project (within the last five years). The lead author and supervisor/mentor are an Allied Health, Nursing, or Midwifery professional.
The Nurse/Midwife/Allied Health Award is an inscribed medal and a sum of money that at present is $1,000. The value of the prize is to be shared if a joint nomination is successful.
Additional Travel Grant – up to $2,500 will be available for travel to an international conference occurring outside of Australia, or up to $1,500 for a conference (international, national, or local) occurring within Australia and involving the presentation of the work for which the prize was awarded. The award must be taken up within 24 months of winning a Tow Award. Retrospective travel claims will not be awarded.
